Have you ever had an awkward situation trying to talk about your dreadlocks?

So, over the winter break, I had gone out with some friends. Over dinner, the conversation slowly turned towards the subject of hair, I do not recall how though. So, of course the discussion turned towards my dreads. As I was trying to explain how dreadlocks are formed and how I keep them intact, there appeared to be quizzical looks upon their faces. I had never felt so awkward in explaining my hair and how it functions lol. And of course, the conversation concluded with me reassuring them that I wash my hair haha. Have you ever had an awkward situation trying to talk about your dreadlocks? If so feel free to share!

  4. dreadlock-goddess answered: Every single day! Basically the same stuff as you tried to explain, and ALWAYS ends with me saying how YES I do in fact wash my dreads.
