Constant Need to Touch My Dreads?

Ever since my dread journey has started, I have developed the habit to constantly touch my dreads. Whether it be retwisting, feeling the texture, or fluffing them out. Although I do most of this at home, I am concerned that I am carrying these habits outside the home. It’s like I believe that doing this will help my dreads to lock faster/look nicer lol.

  2. bittersong answered: Classic HILS (hand in loc syndrome). Have had this for 18 months and my locs are fine.
  3. ditadimone answered: I do it too, but it’s because I love the texture of my buds!
  4. pippip-khir-e-oh answered: same!!! My math teacher called me out on it during class. So embarrassing. I definitely curb the urge in his class.
  5. b-jizzle answered: every1 with dreads does that. its normal lol
  6. postone1 answered: WTF?!?! you can do whatever you want! It won’t affect them!
  7. nascence answered: i do the same, i think its the newness of them for me
  8. teabunny answered: Leaving them alone helps. A little bit of mini-maintenance helps every now and again, but too much is a bad thing.
